Frequently asked questions about the Ghost Walks
When are the walks held?
We walk three times a week every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until until December 8th.
The Monday walk is the 'Lanes' walk, Tuesdays is the 'Elm Hill' Walk and the Thursday walk is the 'Castle' walk,. See 'Walks' page for further details.
In October 2018 we will be running our Halloween specials at the end of the month. Please see 'Halloween' elsewhere on the site for full details.
In December we have our 'Christmas Specials' every evening from Monday 11th until Friday 15th inclusive. Additionally on Monday to Thursday 18th to 21st. These special walks are priced at £9.00 and include not only many Christmas themed ghost stories from around Britain with a Christmas theme but a glass of mulled wine (or soft drink) and a mince pie at the Adam and Eve.
Private walks can be organised all year round and can be tailored to meet your exact requirements.
Can I see a sample of a Ghost Walks story?
Yes. Just click on the link below to see The Man in Black in action
Do I need to book in advance?
No For regular walks and Christmas specials just turn up on the night. Only Halloween speacials need advance booking.
Where do the walks start from?
The walks start outside The Adam and Eve pub off BIshopgate at 7.30. Proceed up Whitefriars from the Puppet Theatre roundabout, Bishopsgate is on the left just after Whitefriars Bridge. The Adam and Eve is left off Bishopsgate just after the Law Courts. Satnav reference is NR31RZ
How long do the walks take?
Approximately two hours except the Festive specials and Halloween events which last 90 minutes.
What if the weather is poor?
We aim to run the ghost walks as sheduled. If light rain is present or showers are forcast we will go ahead. If the rain is heavier or persistent then the ghosts wont mind the rain but you probably will, so bring suitable clothing.
Can I take photographs?
The streets of Norwich are yours to capture on film. Also the ghost hunter and his team will be happy to pose for photos with you and your friends at the end of the walk.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes. All walks enjoy the company of well behaved dogs on a lead.
I am disabled; can I get around the walks?
The walks are on fairly flat ground and are not too extended, although you will need to keep up with the main group or you may loose some of the content of the stories. Wheel chairs can get around all the routes albeit sometimes with a few yards detour. Elm Hill can prove difficult for some wheelchair users.
Is the walk suitable for small children or those of a nervous disposition?
The walks are scary in a fun way and whilst there will be the odd 'boo' moment and tales of blood and gore we would hope not to upset those of a nervous disposition. Please be aware that the ghost walk team take no responsibility for any reaction from our customers to any of the events that take place on the walks. Young children are most welcome but they need to know that they could be eaten by the Man in Black if he fancies a snack on the way round.
How much do the walks cost?
£7 for adults. £5 for children under 16, full time students and senior citizens. Children under 5 go free. December 'Festive specials' are £9.00. All Halloween tickets are £8.
Do we have a break at any time?
No the walks are continuous. However we do stop at places of interest to hear the next ghost story and so there will be time on the way round to stop off for a comfort break without losing touch with the main group.
Are there any discounts available?
Full fee paying groups of ten or more are offered a £1 per head discount to the standard full ticket price.
Can I arrange for a private tour as well as the scheduled ones?
Yes we are happy to undertake private bookings all year round. The full ghost team will provide an evenings entertainment for a £100 minimum charge. Charges go up incrementally at £7 per head. For example 20 persons would cost £140; 10 persons would cost £100. If no ghosts are required the fixed price will be reduced by £30. Full details of private walks are on the appropriate page of this web site.
What else can you offer?
The Man in Black is available for talks and presentations to all types of groups and societies all year round. Why not liven up your party by arranging a visit from him - additional (tangible) ghosts are optional extras.
